So I managed to get two things finished this week for Art V Cancer.
The first one was the long overdue ‘thank you’ to all those who exhibited work at our ‘Live Long & Prosper’ Exhibition in Nov last year - 38 thank you cards went in the post.
Then I managed to calculate our donation for the period of Nov 12 - Jan 13 and this came to a lovely sum of £1280/$1983 bringing the total YOU have raised for Art V Cancer to a magnificent £8157/$12638!
Who knew that when we set out along this path we would be thinking about the real possibility of raising £10,000 for Cancer Charities.
I remember when I set out to sell some of Raid71’s prints that it would be awesome to sell just a couple and raise a little bit of money for CALLM (Caring for Adults with Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma). And now we are here with the help of so many talented artists raising thousands of pounds for not only CALLM but CLIC Sargent (Children & Young People with Cancer), Prostate Cancer UK, The Breast Cancer Campaign and Cancer Research UK.But I am equally proud of the fact that we not only raise money for Cancer Charities; Art V Cancer sells limited edition prints that YOU want to buy, frame and put on your wall. So it is you and the support from artists out there on social networking sites that keeps Art V Cancer moving along.
So where are we moving along to in 2013? Lots of exciting things hoped for and planned. Over the next week I plan to take detailed photographs of the prints on Art V Cancer and then give the website a little bit of an update adding new prints in the process. And remember we are always open to submissions from artists. So contact me julia@raid71.com if you want to submit. We appreciate the time artists take to support Art V Cancer.
Well my next update will probably be about my poor photography skills.. fingers crossed it won’t be! And hopefully we will be nearer that £10,000 fund-raising mark. To do this we need to raise £1843 for the next donation in May 2013. Can we do it? Well with your help - we will try!
